Singer Yoo Seung Joon, who is still banned from entering South Korea due to long-standing draft-dodging controversies, has recently been seen performing in the United States according to a post shared by a Korean-American resident.

A user who claimed to have lived in the Cerritos area of Los Angeles wrote on an online community that Yoo Seung Joon continues to introduce himself as a Korean superstar during his performances at local events and night stages.

The post described Yoo Seung Joon singing his past hits such as 'Passion,' 'Gaui,' and 'Me Me Me.' The user added that when he is not performing, he often goes to the gym and spends time with his children going to the beach, surfing, or skateboarding.

The same user criticized Yoo Seung Joon’s ongoing attempts to return to South Korea. They wrote that he is living well in the United States, yet keeps trying to come back. They pointed out that he stays silent during controversies in Korea and only reappears once the situation calms down. The user also shared personal regret over having been a fan during their school years, stating that they once bought all of his albums from the first to the fourth.

Although disappointed, the user said they would still speak respectfully since they were once a fan. They added that Yoo Seung Joon seems stuck in the 1990s and still behaves immaturely. Wearing a backwards snapback and a Bart Simpson T-shirt will not make him younger again. Even if he returned to South Korea, they believe he would not be able to do anything meaningful. They concluded by saying they hope he continues working out, performing 'Me Me Me' at local shows, and simply lives in LA.

Yoo Seung Joon made his debut in 1997 with the album 'West Side' and quickly became a household name in Korea with several hit songs. However, in 2002, he left Korea for a concert tour and soon after obtained U.S. citizenship. This move led to widespread criticism for allegedly avoiding mandatory military service. As a result, the South Korean Ministry of Justice issued a ban preventing his entry into the country, which remains in effect.

In 2015, Yoo Seung Joon applied for an F-4 visa for overseas Koreans at the South Korean Consulate General in Los Angeles, but the application was rejected. He filed a lawsuit and won two Supreme Court rulings. Despite these rulings, the consulate once again denied his visa application in June of last year. Yoo is currently pursuing another legal battle to challenge the decision.
