On April 29, Lee Seung Gi bowed his head in apology for his father-in-law's stock manipulation scandal and stated that he has cut ties with his in-laws.

The singer released an official statement where he expressed his regrets and said, "As someone who had trusted family bonds, I cannot hide my deep sense of devastation over my father-in-law’s misconduct.” He added, “I deeply regret my previous hasty remarks without fully verifying the situation last year.”

Lee Seung Gi shared his opinions in that his father-in-law's illegal actions must not go unpunished and shared, "Illegal actions must be rightfully punished. I sincerely apologize to the victims who have suffered due to my rash judgment. I also extend my deepest apologies to everyone who trusted and supported me.”
