Taeyeon of Girls' Generation has officially canceled her upcoming solo concert in Tokyo, SM Entertainment confirmed on April 29.

The agency shared the update through Taeyeon’s official social media accounts, announcing that 'TAEYEON CONCERT – The ODD Of LOVE in JAPAN' would no longer take place and that full refunds would be provided to ticket holders.

“In our earlier announcement, we informed fans of the concert’s cancellation and had been actively exploring alternatives for a replacement show,” SM said. “However, due to ongoing difficulties securing a venue that could both accommodate the expected audience and maintain the show’s production quality, we’ve ultimately decided to cancel the Tokyo concert.”

The statement continued, “We deeply apologize to all the fans who had been looking forward to the performance. We exhausted every possible option, which unfortunately delayed this update. We sincerely ask for your understanding and once again extend our heartfelt apologies.” All tickets will be fully refunded.

On April 17, SM initially announced on Taeyeon’s official Japanese website that her solo concerts, scheduled for April 19 and 20 at Tokyo’s Ariake Arena, had been canceled.

At the time, the agency explained that the equipment being used for her Asia tour had not yet arrived in Japan. “Despite ongoing coordination with related departments and exploring every possible solution, we ultimately determined that it would be too difficult to carry out the show as planned,” the statement read.

Following the initial cancellation, Taeyeon expressed her disappointment through a fan platform, writing, “I don’t know what to say because I’m so upset. I hate this situation so much, and I’m sorry to S♡NE. This concert, built from everyone’s effort and excitement, disappeared in a moment. It feels like it was stolen from me. I don’t know how to express how empty and helpless I feel.”

Taeyeon also posted a statement from a global fan alliance on her personal account, which urged SM Entertainment to provide further feedback and compensation regarding the canceled Tokyo concerts.
