Despite recent controversies involving Baek Jong Won, Netflix’s Culinary Class Wars Season 2 is continuing production and aiming for release in the second half of the year.
According to industry insiders, Culinary Class Wars 2 is scheduled for release in October. Filming began in late March and is reportedly progressing smoothly. Baek Jong Won and Chef Ahn Sung Jae have returned as judges, following their appearances in Season 1.
However, a Netflix representative commented, “We are planning for a second-half release, but the exact release date has not been finalized.”
Amid recent controversies surrounding Baek Jong Won’s company, The Born Korea, concerns arose about potential disruptions to his television activities. Nevertheless, production on Culinary Class Wars 2 and other major programs has largely continued as planned.
In addition to Culinary Class Wars 2, Baek Jong Won was also spotted filming The Genius Baek 3, a tvN variety show in France, with footage shared online on April 27.
Meanwhile, MBC’s Chef of Antarctica, which was originally scheduled to air in April, faced rumors of indefinite postponement. However, MBC clarified, “The broadcast schedule was adjusted due to breaking news coverage and the early election period,” and added, “The exact airing date will be announced once it is finalized.”
