Broadcaster Lee Ji Hye recently opened up about her emotional journey helping her daughter, Taeri, overcome school refusal and successfully adjust to elementary school.

On April 28, Lee Ji Hye posted a video titled "Taeri’s First Day of Elementary School Vlog (School Refusal)" on her YouTube channel.

In the video, Lee Ji Hye comforted her anxious daughter on her first day of school, saying, "You're just nervous. It’s okay. Don’t cry. It’s okay not to do everything perfectly. Let’s go."

After sending Taeri off to school, Lee Ji Hye shared, "Taeri went in crying again. She’s been so nervous that she has stomachaches and constipation, so we’ve been giving her medicine. Even in kindergarten, it was really hard for her to go. Her dad used to take her to the Han River every day to comfort her before sending her off."

On another day, Lee Ji Hye updated that Taeri once again managed to attend school, saying, "She said she had a stomachache again, so we stopped by the church restroom before going in. But at least she didn’t refuse to go."

As the days passed, Taeri began attending school more confidently. Lee Ji Hye couldn’t hold back her praise: "You’re not crying now. You’re so brave. Didn’t I tell you you’re doing so well?" She also cheered on her daughter when she returned from school, saying, "I’m so proud of you. You didn't cry today—even if you had cried, it would have been fine, but you didn’t. That's a huge step."

A few days later, Lee Ji Hye shared the joyful news that Taeri went to school with a bright smile. Lee Ji Hye said, "It was the first time. I felt so happy. Usually, when she sees the school at the entrance, she covers her eyes to hide her tears, and I would scold her, telling her not to cry. But today, she went in smiling, and I ended up crying. My child struggled, but so did I. Maybe moms grow up along with their children," she said, her voice trembling with emotion.
