South Korea celebrated its 78th National Liberation Day on August 15, 2023. The National Liberation Day of Korea marks the day when Korea was liberated from the 35 years of Japanese colonial rule.

Many Korean celebrities took to social media to pay tribute and celebrate together.

G-Dragon was among the many who dedicated a post. However, his post has won the hearts of many K-netizens. This is because G-Dragon has been paying tribute every year ever since his debut.

One netizen pointed out, "It's really awesome how GD posts about the national liberation day of Korea." The netizen continued to explain, "He's been posting almost every year since his debut. He promotes a lot in Japan and has a lot of Japanese fans but I love that he's not walking on eggshells (when it comes to these posts)."

The netizen added, "When you watch his performances and interviews, you can see he really likes Korean things and traditional things."

In one interview in the past, G-Dragon explained that he gets inspiration from American rap music when it comes to rap. However, he shared he gets inspiration from Korean songs when he writes ones with melody. He shared, "When I make songs that focus on the melody, I receive inspiration from Korean albums. I listen to each Korean music rather than the entire album. There are a lot of songs (I get inspiration from) from DeulKookHwa (a Korean rock band from the 80s). I also like SanWoolLim (a Korean rock band from the 70s) a lot."

Not only that, the poster revealed that G-Dragon graduated from Traditional Arts Middle School.
