SK Telecom has released the first track ‘Halla’ by the multinational metaverse idol girl group ‘Triple iz’.
Triple iz is a unit group formed by selecting three active K-pop idols from countries with a high number of ifland users - India, Indonesia, and Korea. The group consists of Aria from ‘Xcin’, Dita from ‘Secret Number’, and Lee Ji from ‘IChillin’, hailing respectively from India, Indonesia, and Korea.
The name ‘Triple iz’ stands for Initiate, Individual, and International, embodying the message to K-pop fans worldwide to ‘Share hearts beyond nations, embrace individuality, and dare to dream’.
SK Telecom designed Triple iz as a group created by the fans, engaging users from Indonesia, India, the USA, and the Philippines since February to participate in choosing the fan club name, music concept, and more every Thursday on ifland.
Utilizing its proprietary metaverse technology, SK Telecom provides various contents on ifland, including the XR reality drama ‘Triple iz: Road to Debut’ and XR global fan live events. As part of its efforts to expand the metaverse market, SK Telecom recently signed a publishing contract with CelcomDigi, the leading telecommunications company in Malaysia, and Cherry, an IoT platform company in the Philippines, moving forward with its expansion into the Southeast Asian market.
Starting with Southeast Asia, SK Telecom aims to find partners in the Americas and focus on synergies between the metaverse and artificial intelligence (AI), envisioning ifland as a ‘global AI metaverse’ service that offers a seamless experience across diverse environments.
As far as debuts go, I thought it was so-so. The song felt rather monotonous and the choreography wasn't exciting or creative. That said, the members vocals are lovely so I look forward to hearing more from them - A
