Sleuthing netizens believe that The Boyz member Kevin recently sent a coded message to fans, calling out his label IST Entertainment for not crediting him as a song-writer.
The Bubble messages that Kevin sent in the hours of the evening between August 4-5 KST contained only emojis:
Well, one fan wondered if the emojis had a hidden meaning behind them, and puzzled out the words, "PLACEE PASSION CREDS".
Based on the "de-coded" version of the message, the fan raised suspicions that Kevin may be expressing his frustration over not being credited in the song "Passion Fruit", track #2 from The Boyz's upcoming album '[PHANTASY] Pt.1 Christmas In August'.
Based on a tracklist released by IST Entertainment for '[PHANTASY] Pt.1 Christmas In August', "Passion Fruit" was composed by Oliver Forsmark, BB ELLIOT, and Chris Meyer, with lyrics by the same composers as well as Ellie Suh and fellow The Boyz member Sunwoo.
Furthermore, according to fans, these were some of the messages that Kevin sent on Bubble a few hours before he sent his "coded" message on August 4.
Some of the Korean text reads, "Don't let your creativity be stolen too easily. Take care of it, your creative property yall," and "There's no such thing as effort without fruit. I believe that everything contributes to my personal growth for the future. Take it one day at a time! One task at a time! Slow and steady!"
Meanwhile, some have pointed out that Kevin spoke up about a similar incident in the past for a song titled "36.5° (Melting Heart)".
He mentioned to fans once on a private messaging platform, "So the lyrics to 36.5. 'The only light that I need is from the crescent moon beneath your nose'. Be honest with me. You didn't pay attention to that line because it was in English, right? Kekekekeke. I wrote that line."
K-netizens were shocked by the possibility of Kevin not receiving credit for his creative work, and commented,
"That's so crazy. How come that other member gets credit, but not him??"
"Is he sure he wants to wave it off like that? He should seriously talk to someone at his company. I don't think it's a small matter."
"If that's true, he could pursue legal action."
"What does this company have against Kevin srsly."
"What kind of horrible company is this?"
"What if he went to the company for clarification, but they just shut him down..."
"I think those emojis are definitely deliberate."
"If that's all true, he must be feel so wronged."
"Even if he wrote one or two lines of English lyrics, he should be credited. Apparently this company considers its artists like fools."
Kevin works really really hard for the fans give lots of love very very please 💪🏾💪🏾
