Actress and Girls’ Generation member Yoona has once again touched hearts with her generosity and warmth.

According to reports on April 22nd KST, Yoona gifted high-end massagers to the entire staff of tvN’s upcoming drama ‘The Tyrant’s Chef’, in which she stars. The gifts were reportedly prepared out of her own pocket, with an estimated total cost of 30 million KRW (approx. $21,000), as a gesture of gratitude for the hard-working crew.

Along with the thoughtful gift, YoonA also wrote a personal letter, saying, “I prepared this with the hope that it helps ease your fatigue, even just a little, so we can make it to the end together in good health. Let’s keep going strong. You have Yoona’s support.” She signed it with her name and the name of her character, Youn Ji Young, showing her affection for both the staff and the project.

This isn’t the first time Yoona has expressed appreciation to her team in such a heartfelt way. She previously delivered handwritten notes and gifts to the staff of her past projects, including JTBC’s ‘Hush’, ‘King the Land’, and the film ‘The Devil’s Deal’.

Staff members have since shared their gratitude on social media, posting messages such as “Thank you,” “My calves are saved, thanks to unnie,” “Is she an actual goddess?”, and “So comfortable and amazing.”

Yoona is set to return to the small screen later this year in ‘The Tyrant’s Chef’, a fantasy survival romance based on a popular web novel. The series tells the story of Youn Ji Young, a cheerful and determined French chef who, after winning a prestigious cooking competition in Paris, is suddenly transported 500 years into the past—right into the palace of a tyrannical yet gourmet king in Joseon.

Director Jang Tae Yoo, known for ‘My Love From the Star’, ‘Hyena’, and ‘Lovers of the Red Sky’, is at the helm of this anticipated production. As Ji Young adapts to her unexpected “job change” from a Michelin-star bistro to royal court cuisine, she must survive palace life—and perhaps even find unexpected romance along the way.
