Actor Jung Kyung Ho recently opened up about his 12-year relationship with Girls’ Generation member and actress Choi Sooyoung, describing her as the pillar of his life beyond acting.
In an interview with a local media outlet, Jung was asked what serves as the central anchor in his life aside from acting. He answered, “It may sound cliché, but the center of my life outside of acting is Sooyoung.”
He continued, “Sometimes I wonder if I even act because of her. Maybe I want to impress her, to show her that I’m a good person and a good actor. The thing that brings me the most happiness outside of acting is her happiness. We’ve been together for a long time and see each other often.”
Jung Kyung Ho also reflected on how their relationship has lasted so long, saying, “It’s thanks to her patience. I used to make a lot of mistakes—like drinking too much—but I don’t do that anymore,” he said with a laugh.
When asked about the significance of having a longtime partner, he replied, “It’s important. I think it’s even more meaningful because we’ve always shared the same dream of becoming great actors.”
Jung is set to star in the upcoming MBC drama ‘Labor Attorney Noh Moo Jin’, premiering on May 30th. The fantasy comedy follows a labor attorney who can see ghosts and tackles labor disputes in unexpected ways. The series brings together top talents, including director Yim Soon Rye, writer Kim Bo Tong of ‘D.P.’, and screenwriter Yoo Seung Hee of ‘My Love, My Bride’ and ‘I Can Speak’.
Meanwhile, Choi Sooyoung will return to the small screen in the tvN drama ‘Please Stop Drinking’, which premieres on May 12th.
