EXO leader Suho made a surprise appearance as the MC for Kai’s fourth mini album showcase ‘Wait On Me’, held on April 21st KST at Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul.
Before Kai took the stage, flashes lit up the venue—not for the main performer, but for Suho, whose unexpected role as MC caught everyone’s attention. Suho shared that he volunteered to host the event in return for Kai having hosted his own ‘Grey Suit’ showcase in 2022.
During the event, Suho joined Kai to discuss the new album’s tracks. When Kai left to prepare for his performance of the title track ‘Wait On Me’, Suho stayed on stage to entertain the press with off-script banter.
Suho confessed, “I thought it would be easy since I’m just chatting with a close friend, but I should’ve taken this more seriously. I truly apologize—this is heavier than I expected.” His honest reflection drew laughter from the audience.
He added, “I should’ve watched some videos of veteran MCs like Super Junior sunbaenim beforehand. I feel like this might be my first and last time doing this. But in a way, I’m relieved,” he joked.
When Kai’s preparation ran longer than expected, Suho filled the time with stories from his daily life, even offering a surprise photo time after a photographer suggested it. It became an unusual yet heartwarming moment where the MC, not the artist, took the spotlight.
Kai later revealed, “Suho hyung was so entertaining that I actually delayed coming out just to keep watching from backstage.”
Though Suho may have been nervous about his hosting skills, his charm, wit, and visual presence turned the waiting time into a delightful experience for the media, setting a warm tone for Kai’s stage.
The event introduced Kai’s title track ‘Wait On Me’, a pop song with Afrobeats rhythms that explores the beauty of gradually unfolding emotions. As expected, the performance featured his signature mesmerizing choreography that captivated both eyes and ears.
