RM, leader of BTS, has shared a quiet yet powerful update marking a major milestone—just 50 days remain until his military discharge.
On April 21st KST, RM took to his social media story to post a screenshot from a countdown app showing “50 days left until discharge! Have you planned your final vacation?” The simple image, uploaded without any caption, instantly drew excited responses from fans around the world who have been eagerly awaiting the return of BTS’s leader.
RM began his mandatory military service in December 2023, and is scheduled to be discharged on June 10th. He enlisted on the same day as fellow member V, who will also complete his service on the same day. Jimin and Jungkook are set to return on June 11th, while SUGA, currently serving as a public service worker, will be officially discharged on June 21st.
Once RM, V, Jimin, Jungkook, and SUGA complete their service, BTS will be fully reunited—a moment fans have been patiently awaiting since the group began their enlistments.
Despite his military duties, RM has consistently maintained a connection with fans through social media. He previously shared photos taken while on leave and in January, he posted a message reading “2025, I’ve been waiting for you”, fueling anticipation for the group’s full-scale comeback.
Meanwhile, Jin, who was the first to complete his service in June 2023, and J-Hope, who was discharged in October, have both resumed solo activities, keeping the BTS presence alive during the group’s hiatus.
With the countdown now ticking into its final stretch, BTS fans are already looking toward late 2024, when the world’s biggest boy band is expected to resume group promotions in earnest.
