Disney+ original series 'A Shop for Killers' has officially confirmed production for its second season, marking its full-fledged return. Following the explosive popularity of Season 1 across Asia, the reveal of the Season 2 casting lineup has significantly heightened fans’ anticipation.

Premiered in January last year, Season 1 quickly climbed to the top of Disney+’s TV show rankings in South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong during its debut week. It also ranked No. 2 in Japan and No. 3 in Singapore, solidifying its success across the region. With an impressive IMDb rating of 8.6, the series stood alongside hits like 'Moving' and 'The Worst of Evil.'

'A Shop for Killers' is an emotional action drama that weaves the past relationship between young niece Ji An and her uncle Jin Man, all while unraveling the underworld network MurtheHelp, a dark web marketplace for assassins and weaponry. The show gained popularity for its intense shootouts, thrilling chase scenes, unexpected plot twists, and game-like, stylish direction. The mystery deepens as Ji An, following her uncle’s death, begins to confront the dangerous and hidden world left behind.

However, Season 1 did receive some criticism, notably for its overuse of flashbacks and certain unrealistic elements that broke viewers' concentration. Nevertheless, the show carved out a fresh space for itself in the streaming world, with its fast-paced narrative, unique universe, and strong cast chemistry. Fans have since voiced strong demand for a second season.

On April 21, Disney+ officially announced the production of Season 2 and revealed both returning and new cast members.

Leading once again is Lee Dong Wook, reprising his role as Jeong Jin Man, the former mercenary and mastermind behind MurtheHelp. Kim Hye Jun returns as his niece Ji An. Geum Hae Na, Lee Tae Young, and Kim Min also reprise their roles as Min Hye (MurtheHelp's admin), Brother (weapons expert), and Pashin (Muay Thai trainer), respectively - all key figures surrounding the protagonist.

New characters joining the cast are also drawing attention. Hyun Ri, a Korean-Japanese actress, plays Q, a mercenary team leader from the East Asian branch of the rival organization Babylon. Q is a cold, tactical operator expected to play a central role in the Season 2 plot. Japanese actor Masaki Okada joins as Jay, Q’s younger brother and co-leader, setting the stage for a tense dynamic between sibling mercenaries. Jung Yoon Ha steps in as Kusanagi, the top leader of the Babylon organization, introducing a new power structure.

'A Shop for Killers' Season 2 is slated for exclusive release on Disney+ in 2026. Fans are eager to see how the open-ended narratives and hidden backstories from Season 1 will expand, and how the clash between the two major organizations, MurtheHelp and Babylon, will unfold. There's especially high anticipation for the upgraded action sequences and the actors’ bold, distinctive performances.

Through Season 2, Disney+ signals its intent to strengthen its Korean original content lineup and solidify its standing in the global streaming market. 'A Shop for Killers' appears poised once again to push genre boundaries and deliver another compelling ride.
