On the morning of May 26 at Goseong County in Gangwon Province, Song Joong Ki was officially discharged from the 2nd Infantry Division and will be returning to his life as a civilian--and advancing his acting career of course.

After the discharge ceremony, when asked by reporters which girl group gave him strength during his service, the actor replied, "My seniors warned me to expect this question. I thought about it a lot but I honestly don't know a lot of girl groups. Personally, my best friend Lee Kwang Soo was the one that gave me the most strength. I saw him so often during 'Running Man' that he naturally became my greatest strength."
Meanwhile, the actor has been confirmed to appear on KBS2's upcoming drama series 'Descendants of the Sun.' Because his role was confirmed prior to his discharge, Song Joong Ki is expected to deliver a more complete, thorough performance on the show. The actor is also received a proposal for a movie appearance and is lined up for various advertising gigs.
