Actress Song Hye Kyo and Professor Seo Kyoung Duk of Sungshin Women’s University have collaborated to produce and release a multilingual video titled Independence Army Female Warrior, Park Cha Jung in honor of the 106th anniversary of the March 1st Movement.

This 4-minute and 30-second video was planned by Professor Seo and sponsored by Song Hye Kyo. It includes both Korean and English narration, aiming to reach a global audience.
The video details Park Cha Jung’s contributions as a special envoy of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, her key role in the Geunuhoe (Korean Women’s National Association), the founding of the Nanjing Korean Women’s Association, and her work as an instructor at the Korean Revolutionary Military and Political Cadre School. It also highlights that she was the second female independence activist, after Yu Gwan Sun, to be posthumously awarded the Order of Merit for National Foundation, Independence Medal.
Professor Seo stated, “In an effort to shed light on lesser-known female independence activists, we have produced this fourth video following those on Jeong Jeong Hwa, Yoon Hee Soon, and Kim Maria. We plan to continue creating a multilingual video series to further promote their stories worldwide.”
The video is currently being shared on YouTube and various social media platforms, as well as among Korean communities around the world.
For the past 14 years, Song Hye Kyo and Professor Seo Kyoung Duk have donated Korean-language guidebooks, Hangul signs, and independence activist relief artworks to 37 historic sites related to Korea’s independence movement overseas, continuing their dedicated efforts to preserve and promote Korean history.
