WINNER’s Song Min Ho faces backlash over alleged ‘negligent service’ as social media erupts.
WINNER member Song Mino is under fire after allegations surfaced regarding his negligence as a public service worker, with his social media being flooded with criticism.
On December 17 KST, Dispatch reported that Song Min Ho, currently serving as a social service worker at a public facility in Mapo, Seoul, was frequently absent from duty. The report claimed that after being transferred to the Mapo facility by a supervisor, Song Min Ho would occasionally sign in, leave to smoke, and disappear. Despite multiple visits to the facility between November and early December, Dispatch reported they never witnessed him on site.
Following the report, Song Min Ho’s Instagram, where his most recent post dates back to March 23, 2022, was inundated with harsh comments. Originally, the post showcased a project where Song Min Ho collaborated on a perfume brand. However, supportive messages have now been replaced with criticism.
Comments include:
“As a public figure, you should fulfill your basic duties,”
“Even your idol G-Dragon completed his service properly. Didn’t you learn anything?”
“Shameful. You’re old enough to do it right.”
“I supported WINNER and Mino, but this is very disappointing. You always seemed humble and sincere on TV; why couldn’t you do your best?”
“Is this true? The military service issue is so sensitive in Korea… I hope it’s not as reported.”
“If you’re a public figure, you should at least fulfill your basic duties.”
“You’re old enough to start serving late, but you can’t even do that properly?”
“Even G-Dragon, whom you seem to admire, completed active duty. Didn’t you learn anything?”
“I supported WINNER and Mino, but this is disheartening. You seemed so sincere and hardworking on variety shows.”
“Seeing this news makes me question everything. Did you really have to let us down like this?”
“Is the article true? This is a sensitive issue for the public when it comes to military service.”
“This makes life harder for those who serve diligently as public workers.”
Song Min Ho’s alleged service negligence comes just six days before his expected release date on December 23, further amplifying the controversy.
