
Actors Park Bo Gum, Byeon Woo Seok, and Choo Young Woo are competing for the Popularity Award at the Baeksang Arts Awards.
On April 23, the Baeksang Arts Awards Secretariat announced, “Voting for the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards Prism Popularity Award will take place from 12 PM today until 4 PM on May 2.”
Among a total of 70 nominees (35 male and 35 female), the top vote-getters in each category will be selected. The nominees are individuals who have been nominated in the television and film divisions.
Among the male nominees, standouts include Park Bo Gum ('When Life Gives You Tangerines'), Byun Woo Seok ('Lovely Runner'), Choo Young Woo ('The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call'), Lee Jun Hyuk ('Dongjae, the Good or the Bastard'), and broadcaster Dex.
Female nominees include Song Hye Kyo ('Dark Nuns'), Kim Go Eun ('Love in the Big City'), IU ('When Life Gives You Tangerines'), Kim Hye Yoon ('Lovely Runner'), and Kim Tae Ri ('Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born').
Popularity Award voting is held on the global retail media platform Prism app. Each account can cast up to four free votes per day, with daily vote resets at midnight.
Last year, Kim Soo Hyun and IVE’s Ahn Yu Jin took home the Popularity Awards. The total number of votes surpassed 11 million, setting a record for the highest tally in the past three years.
Meanwhile, the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards will take place on May 5 at 8:00 PM at COEX Hall D in Seoul. The ceremony will be broadcast live simultaneously on JTBC, JTBC2, and JTBC4.
