WINNER’s Song Min Ho’s workplace denies allegations of ‘poor service’ during alternative duty.
Amid ongoing controversy regarding WINNER member Song Min Ho’s alleged neglect of duties as a public service worker, the Mapo Community Welfare Center has denied the claims reported earlier.
On December 17 KST, a representative from the facility stated, “Everything has been handled according to regulations. We are currently discussing the matter internally and will prepare an official stance.”
Song Min Ho’s agency, YG Entertainment, also issued a statement: “The sick leave was related to ongoing treatment that began prior to his service. All other leave, including vacation, has been used according to regulations.”
The controversy arose after Dispatch reported that Song Min Ho had not been properly attending his duties at the facility. The outlet claimed they visited the location over ten times but did not see him once. They further alleged that Song Mino would “sign in, smoke, and disappear” and was frequently excused for reasons such as “annual leave,” “sick leave,” or “hospitalization.”
The facility’s supervisor, referred to as A, explained: “Song Min Ho’s tasks include organizing receipts and cleaning the GX room. We tend to keep him in less visible areas to prevent people from visiting just to see him. He faces some physical and mental challenges, so there has been no neglect of duty.”
The supervisor emphasized that Song Min Ho’s absence was not due to poor work performance but rather a measure to protect him from unnecessary attention while he fulfills his duties.
