The two, known as a representative long-term couple in the entertainment world, have decided to focus on their individual paths and busy schedules after nurturing their love for the past nine years.
Lee Dong Hwi and Jung Ho Yeon, who publicly acknowledged their relationship in 2016, often expressed their affection for each other at official events while staying dedicated to their respective careers. After gaining global fame with 'Squid Game', Jung Ho Yeon mentioned in a media interview, when asked about her partner's reaction, "He's proud of me."
Lee Dong Hwi appeared on the ENA variety show 'Kwak Jun Bin's World Knight Restaurant 2', released last August, where he made headlines by asking a taxi driver in Los Angeles, "Do you know 'Squid Game'?" He proudly shared about the drama's female lead, 'Saebyeok', saying, "She's my best friend."
Meanwhile, Lee Dong Hwi recently starred as Kim Sang Soon in the MBC drama 'Detective Chief 1958', which concluded last May. He is currently appearing in the tvN variety show 'Living in a Three-Bedroom House in Finland' and is set to return to the stage as Visler in the play 'The Lives of Others', opening on the 27th.
Jung Ho Yeon, who began her career as a model and achieved global stardom through Season 1 of 'Squid Game', made her Hollywood debut with 'Disclaimer', released on Apple TV+ last month. In the series, she portrayed Jisoo, the assistant to Catherine (Cate Blanchett), delivering a compelling performance that showcased her stable acting skills and strong presence.
