Actor Lee Sang Yoon has revealed that he finally graduated from Seoul National University after 13 years, inspired by a conversation with veteran actor Lee Soon Jae.
Appearing on the April 13 episode of ENA’s ‘Nice To See You’ alongside fellow actor Park Geun Hyung, Lee reflected on his long academic journey and the decision to finish his degree in physics at SNU.
“I started acting without having finished school. I felt like I couldn’t do both properly, so I thought I had to give up one. I wanted to focus on acting, so I gave up on studying,” he explained.
Lee shared that his parents were disappointed at the time, believing a diploma would be essential for his future. Though he understood their concerns, his passion for acting ultimately took priority.

He recalled working with Lee Soon Jae on a drama during that period, when the senior actor asked if he had graduated.
“I told him I hadn’t, and he said, ‘You should graduate.’ He told me it’s important to see something through to the end. Finishing what you started makes a difference — it’ll be good for you,” Lee recounted.
Those words stuck with him. Encouraged by the wisdom of his senior, Lee ultimately completed his degree in 2013, 13 years after enrolling.
