BIGBANG member Daesung surprised fans by calling out T.O.P’s name during G-Dragon’s recent concert, stirring emotional reactions from the audience.
At G-Dragon’s ‘Übermensch’ concert held last month at Goyang Sports Complex, a touching moment unfolded during the encore performance of BIGBANG’s hit song "Last Dance." As G-Dragon began singing alone on stage, Daesung and Taeyang appeared one after the other to join him, taking both G-Dragon and fans by surprise. The trio embraced each other mid-performance, reigniting nostalgia for the group’s past.
When T.O.P’s verse came up, Daesung suddenly shouted “T.O.P!” loudly into the microphone, causing the audience to erupt in cheers. The three stood still during T.O.P’s part, listening quietly as the backing track also played his vocals. G-Dragon further paid homage by mimicking T.O.P’s iconic stage pose, stirring up waves of emotion in the crowd. Some audience members were reportedly moved to tears at the sight of three former members of BIGBANG sharing the stage once again.
Fans quickly responded online with comments like, “I really miss the full group,” “This made me cry,” and “Maybe he’ll make a surprise return for their 20th anniversary.”
T.O.P officially left BIGBANG after his marijuana-related controversy in 2017 and recently made headlines for his appearance in Netflix’s ‘Squid Game 2’. In a reflective interview, he said, “I made a terrible mistake. I experienced a fall I couldn’t have imagined and caused deep hurt and betrayal to those I love. I still live every day with regret and feel I must carry that guilt for the rest of my life.”
Former member Seungri, who was involved in the infamous Burning Sun scandal and sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison, was released in February 2023. In a recent interview, Seungri stated, “I’m not planning to leave Korea. I still live here and any overseas travel has been purely personal.”
Despite all the turbulence, the brief moment of musical reunion at G-Dragon’s concert offered fans a bittersweet glimpse of what once was - and a hope, however slim, for what might one day be again.
