Former LE SSERAFIM member Kim Garam has resurfaced through a student-produced video at Konkuk University, where she is currently enrolled.

On April 15th KST, a freshman welcome video was uploaded to the official YouTube channel of the university’s Department of Media and Acting. The video congratulates the class of 2025 and concludes with credits listing the participating students. Among the names in the directing team is Kim Garam, confirming her behind-the-scenes involvement in the production.

Kim Garam was admitted to Konkuk University last year, and her presence in the project has drawn public attention as it marks a rare appearance since her departure from the entertainment industry.

In 2022, Kim Garam debuted with LE SSERAFIM, but was soon embroiled in controversy when multiple individuals came forward alleging she had committed school violence during her middle school years. At the time, Source Music, the group’s agency, denied the allegations, calling them “distorted and maliciously edited claims.”

Despite the agency’s public defense and threat of legal action, further accusations followed. LE SSERAFIM proceeded with a six-member debut that included Kim Garam, but the controversy persisted. According to the law firm representing the alleged victim, the public denial of the incident caused the victim severe psychological distress requiring psychiatric care.

Adding fuel to the controversy, it was later confirmed that Kim Garam had been subject to disciplinary action by a school violence committee in 2018. The committee had ordered her and her parents to complete a set number of hours of special education. The victim was granted protective counseling under the same law.

As public backlash intensified, Kim Garam halted her activities and, just two months after her debut, terminated her exclusive contract with Source Music and officially left the group.

Following her departure, she returned to school as a regular student, graduated from Seoul Performing Arts High School, and was admitted to Konkuk University’s College of Art and Design.

Meanwhile, LE SSERAFIM continues to thrive as a five-member group. They recently made a comeback with their 5th mini-album HOT.
