On April 16, Keyeast Entertainment announced that actress Cho Hye Won, formerly known as ZOA of the girl group Weeekly, has signed an exclusive contract with the agency.
The company stated, "Cho Hye Won is a multi-talented artist with charm and passion for acting across singing, acting, and variety shows. We will fully support her so she can actively pursue her career as an actress," adding, "Please show your warm support for Cho Hye Won as she embarks on this new chapter."
Cho Hye Won debuted in 2020 as ZOA, the main rapper and visual youngest member of Weeekly. The group made a sensational debut, sweeping six rookie awards. In 2021, their third mini-album’s title track 'After School' achieved remarkable milestones, topping iTunes album charts, surpassing 100 million views on YouTube, and exceeding 200 million streams on Spotify — an exceptional feat for a fourth-generation rookie girl group.
In 2022, Cho took her first step into acting with the web film '3.5th Period,' playing Baek Ah Jin, a mysterious transfer student who stumbles upon a lover watch that can slow time by tenfold and gets caught up in a series of secretive events. Her performance received praise for its stability and unique vocal tone, making a strong first impression as an actress.
Fueling her passion for acting, Cho Hye Won entered Sungkyunkwan University’s Department of Acting and Arts in 2024 and has since been preparing for full-fledged acting activities. Beyond her singing and acting endeavors, she also launched her own web variety show 'EVEN BETTER' last year, capturing attention with her upbeat energy and quirky, unexpected charm — further cementing her status as a promising all-rounder.
With boundless potential, expectations are high for the diverse journey Cho Hye Won is set to take with Keyeast Entertainment.
Cho expressed her excitement, saying, “I’m thrilled and grateful to begin a new chapter at Keyeast Entertainment, home to many senior actors I admire. I’ll work hard to grow into an actress who can take on a wide range of roles and show sides of me that I haven’t revealed before. Please look forward to it.”
Keyeast Entertainment is home to some of Korea’s top actors including Cha Seung Won, Kim Hee Ae, Kang Han Na, Park Myung Hoon, Chae Jung An, and Han Sunhwa. The agency is also a leading player in drama and variety production, proving itself as a powerhouse in the entertainment industry.
