Lee Hyun successfully debuts as a radio DJ with BTS J-Hope’s special support.

Singer Lee Hyun successfully made his debut as a radio DJ on ‘Close Friends with Lee Hyun,’ with the special support of his labelmate BTS J-Hope.

The first broadcast of MBC FM4U’s ‘Close Friends with Lee Hyun’ aired at midnight on November 25th KST. This marks Lee Hyun’s first radio program under his own name since his debut. BTS J-Hope joined the show as the first guest, showcasing their close bond. Despite his busy schedule, J-Hope made time to support Lee Hyun’s new endeavor.

J-Hope arrived with a congratulatory bouquet and joined the first segment, “Sangam-dong Studio.” He shared, “It’s meaningful to be part of this important moment, Lee Hyun’s first radio show,” energizing the program with his bright presence.

Lee Hyun showcased his skills as a smooth and humorous DJ, drawing out stories from J-Hope. Highlights included anecdotes from their trainee days, behind-the-scenes stories of J-Hope’s new title track “NEURON (with Gaeko and Yoon Mirae)” from ‘HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1,’ and his future plans—all exclusive to ‘Close Friends.’

Lee Hyun reminisced about their past, saying, “J-Hope once performed as a guest at my concert before his debut. After the concert, we rode in my car together. It wasn’t a luxurious car, but young J-Hope seemed really impressed and said, ‘Wow, hyung, your car is so nice.’” J-Hope replied, “Back then, everything felt so new and amazing. Just being on stage at a concert and being around Hyun hyung was an honor.”

Buoyed by J-Hope’s support, Lee Hyun confidently wrapped up segments such as “Today’s Idol,” where he analyzed lyrics and highlighted new songs; “My Favorite Among Yours,” featuring listener-favorite tracks; and “Tomorrow, My Work,” which encouraged listeners to embrace their tomorrows.

Through Big Hit Music, Lee Hyun expressed, “I believe that sharing sincere stories with listeners will create a healing two hours. I’ll do my best to become a DJ loved for a long time.” He added, “I want to once again thank J-Hope for being my first guest despite his busy schedule.”

‘Close Friends with Lee Hyun’ airs every Monday to Thursday at midnight on MBC FM4U (91.9 MHz in Seoul and surrounding areas) and is also available on the official website and MBC Radio app mini.
