According to media outlet reports on April 18, singer Sungmin has decided to part ways with SM Entertainment, his label of 20-years.
Sungmin's exclusive contract with SM Entertainment will expire at the end of this month, and he will not renew. Instead, Sungmin has chosen to pursue his trot singer career with Total Set, a music agency specializing in trot.
Previously, Sungmin appeared on the trot competition program 'Mister Trot 2' in 2022, expressing his wishes to go from "a K-Pop singer to a trot singer". In 2023, he officially debuted as a trot singer with his 1st single, "Lovesick".
