BTS's Jin keeps his promise to his junior soldiers.
On August 22 KST, photos were shared on an online community showing BTS member Jin returning to his military unit to meet his junior soldiers, fulfilling a promise he made before his discharge.
The photos show Jin in casual attire, taking a group photo with the junior soldiers. His gesture of revisiting the unit after his discharge reflects his warm-hearted nature and commitment to maintaining bonds. One of the junior soldiers commented, "I didn't think he was serious when he said he would come back to visit after being discharged," highlighting Jin's loyalty and character.
Jin's care for his junior soldiers is well-known. In a recent interview with 'Weverse Magazine', Jin mentioned, "I spent more than my military salary on feeding the guys. Many of them had just turned twenty or hadn't yet started working, so I thought, 'Shouldn't they at least eat well and stay healthy? Come on, I'll treat you,' and I did. I bought so much chicken, jokbal, and pizza that they got tired of it, and I also took the other guys in the barracks to a barbecue place. It might sound a bit boastful, but I was called 'god' in the company." He also expressed his gratitude, saying that his juniors and peers treated him well in return.
On the day of Jin's discharge, the scene of his junior soldiers tearing up while saying goodbye to him became a hot topic.
Jin enlisted in the 5th Infantry Division, a frontline unit, in December 2022 and was discharged this past June. Since his discharge, he has been actively participating in various entertainment programs.
