Hybe Latin America, the Mexican subsidiary of Hybe, announced on April 25 that it will partner with American broadcaster Telemundo to launch a new band audition program starting in June.
The survival music competition program, titled 'Pase a la fama' (meaning "Step toward fame" in Spanish), will premiere on June 8 (CST). The program aims to discover and nurture Mexican band talents.
Telemundo, a Spanish-language broadcaster under NBCUniversal, is known for delivering dramas, reality shows, and news content to Latino audiences across the United States.
Fifty-five selected contestants will join the 'Pase a la fama' artist camp, where they will undergo structured training and fierce competition. Their journey will be broadcast live, offering viewers an up-close look at their growth and challenges.
The winners — whether individuals or a team selected as the final band — will receive a cash prize of $100,000 and the opportunity to sign a record deal with Hybe Latin America.
Edgar Barrera, a 21-time Latin Grammy Award winner and a Grammy Award winner at the 57th ceremony, will produce the program’s theme song and original soundtrack.
Judging the competition will be prominent figures from Mexico’s popular music scene, including singer-actress Ana Bárbara, singer-songwriter Adriel Favela, and renowned composer Horacio Palencia.
Isaac Lee, chairman of Hybe Latin America, stated, "'Pase a la fama' is a love letter to the essential power of music and the unforgettable process of creation. We aim to show what possibilities can unfold when talent and opportunity meet, starting from an artist’s roots and reaching Hybe’s global vision."
