The animated film 'Letter from Yeon' has been officially invited to the Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF), one of the world's top three animation festivals, and the voice cast has also been revealed.
'Letter from Yeon' is a feature-length animation based on the webtoon of the same name by Jo Hyun Ah, which was serialized as a 10-episode summer special on Naver Webtoon in 2018. The story follows a girl named Sori, who transfers to a rural school after being bullied for helping a friend who was being ostracized. At her new school, she discovers a letter left by someone named Ho Yeon, who sat in the same seat as her.
The film has caught attention with its voice cast announcement, particularly with the casting of musician Lee Su Hyun of AKMU as the lead character, Sori. Sori is a 17-year-old girl who embarks on a journey to find the letter left by Ho Yeon. Lee Su Hyun, known for her clear and pure voice and rich emotional expression through music, is expected to bring deep emotions to her role as a voice actress. Lee Su Hyun expressed her excitement about the role, saying, "When I heard that 'Letter from Yeon,' which I enjoyed so much, was being turned into an animation, I really wanted to see it first. I felt honored to have the opportunity to perform as the original voice, so I decided to take on the challenge."
