Park Hyungsik, beloved for his role in 'Strong Girl Bong Soon,' is gearing up to captivate audiences once again in JTBC's upcoming drama, 'Doctor Slump,' set to premiere on January 27. The series recently unveiled a still image featuring Park Hyungsik, who returns to the screen as 'Yeo Jeong Woo,' a renowned doctor facing a crisis.
'Doctor Slump' is a romantic comedy that unfolds the story of Yeo Jeong Woo (played by Park Hyeongsik) and Nam Ha Neul (played by Park Shin Hye), whose lives were on the upswing until they abruptly hit a roadblock. The narrative follows these two rivals, who reunite during a dark period in their lives and ultimately become each other's source of laughter, excitement, empathy, and solace.
Discussing his choice to join 'Doctor Slump,' Park Hyungsik revealed, "The theme of experiencing a slump deeply resonated with me on a personal level. I am aware that many people encounter burnout and slumps in this intense and hectic reality. I went through a period like that too, and I found it bitter because I believed it was something nearly everyone experiences at least once. I thought this drama could provide empathy and comfort by presenting the story in an enjoyable yet profound manner."
Regarding his character Yeo Jeong Woo, he explained, "He was born into a successful doctor's family, pursued an elite education, and led a respectable life as a plastic surgeon. However, when confronted with an unexpected event, he faces the worst slump of his life." Park Hyungsik emphasized the importance of portraying Jeong Woo's gradual recovery from his slump through his positive attitude and the genuine support of those around him.
'Doctor Slump' is set to make its debut on January 27 at 10:30 PM, promising an engaging and emotional journey of self-discovery and renewal.
