BTS's SUGA recently shared his principles in group activities and confessed he feels more comfortable being in the background.
On July 3, the new episode of 'Suchwita' invited Jo Se Ho as a special guest. On this day, the two celebrities sat down and had deep conversations about their principles in life and their profession.
Jo Se Ho shared that he decided to lose weight because he felt he wasn't taking care of himself. Having lost 30kg (66 lbs) through dieting, he said, “I decided to go on a diet at the age of 39. It's great to meet people, but suddenly I realized that I didn't take care of myself too much. So, in the year of turning 40, I decided to conquer the three things I had the most trouble with. The three things were diet, being a morning person, and reading.”
Jo Se Ho also shared that his principle in life is to concentrate on what he's good at. He shared, "At the time, I was really ambitious and I had a plan but nothing worked. Nothing worked out for comedian Jo Se Ho. So, I thought about what I could do better." He added, "Jo Se Ho decided that he could do really well in what he's good at."
He elaborated, "Up until then, I had just been envious of the things other people did and wanted to do what they did even though it didn't really suit me."
SUGA also offered his perspective and shared his principles in promoting as a group. SUGA shared, "That's what I think. That's my mindset. That's my mindset on the team (BTS)." He continued to elaborate, "When I'm part of the team, I don't want to be in the center for a long time." When Jo Se Ho asked, "Why?" SUGA explained, "Jungkook, Taehyung, Seokjin, Jimin, Namjoon, and Hobi are also so much better at performing than me, and I still think they're better on stage than I am."
He continued, "It's easier for me to tune myself to them. I feel more comfortable watching from behind. Because not everyone can come in first. What matters is how much I love what I do and whether people recognize that. That's who I am within the team. I know they're better. So I want them to have more opportunities."
You don't have to be in the center to lead. It is good that he has found his niche in the group but his fingerprints are all over BTS' discography and a lot of his solos have brought me a lot of comfort. So his impact, at least on me, is undeniable. Also, future Yoongi should have a word with this one - having been to his concert, he can absolutely hold his own. He is an amazing performer 🔥
