The Cannes International Series Festival is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year. The event will be held in Cannes, France, from April 1 to April 9, and it is an event that aims to highlight drama series from all over the world and to give them an international voice.
Three Korean OTT series — “Work Later, Drink Now,” “Monstrous,” and “Damn Good Company” will be screened at the Cannes International Series Festival, in the non-competition section of South Korea fiction on April 6.
1) Work Later, Drink Now
Released in October 2021 on streaming platform TVING, Work Later, Drink Now delightfully depicts the friendship and daily life of three women of the same age. They have different jobs and lives, but they are best friends who gather every night to share their life stories over drinks.
The series stars Apink's Eunji, Sunhwa & Lee Sun-bin in the lead roles. The series was well-loved by local viewers and made history in TVING for the increase of paid subscribers by 36 times during the period of airing.
As a result of the show’s popularity, the second season of the show is confirmed and is set to be released later this year.
2) Monstrous
“Monstrous” is one of TVING's most anticipated works this year, set to be released in April. The series is a supernatural thriller that will showcase the strange incident that happened in a village with a cursed Buddha statue.
The series stars Koo Kyo-hwan, Shin Hyun-bin, Kwak Dong-Yeon, Nam Da-Reum, Park Ho-San, and Kim Ji-Young.
3) Damn Good Company
“Damn Good Company” takes place at a small enterprise called JS Network, to relentlessly demonstrate the harsh reality of an enterprise in its entirety.
The show has been well received by many office workers and young people by melting the reality of small and medium-sized businesses in Korea with a comical situation setting and detailed reality check. The series has been invested and produced by Watcha. Season 5 of the series is out now.
