Concerns are being raised about the spread of the COVID19 among the actors who attended this year's 'Blue Dragon Film Awards' as Jung Woo Sung, who attended as a presenter, tested positive. In regards to the news, an official from the 'Blue Dragon Film Awards' assured that Jung Woo Sung didn't have close contact with other actors at the ceremony.
Jung Woo Sung's management agency, Artist Company, stated on November 30, "Jung Woo Sung tested positive for COVID19." His agency revealed that the actor was vaccinated. Jung Woo Sung is currently self-quarantining, following the guidelines of the quarantine authorities.
Jung Woo Sung attended the 'Blue Dragon Film Awards' as a presenter on November 26 and appeared on stage with Lee Jung Jae without wearing masks. Afterwards, Jung Woo Sung handed the trophy to director Ryu Seung Wan for the Best Director award for the film 'Escape from Mogadishu.' With the news that Jung Woo Sung tested positive, all those who came in close contact with the actor have been tested for COVID19.
Meanwhile, the officials of the 'Blue Dragon Film Awards' are not very concerned over Jung Woo Sung testing positive for COVID19 because Jung Woo Sung hardly came in contact with other actors.
In a YTN interview, one official explained on November 30, "He briefly came to the ceremony venue to hand the award for Best Director. He stayed in the waiting room for a short time and left for his next schedule. He was also wearing a mask while being in the waiting room. Additionally, he hardly came in contact with the other actors who attended the event."
However, other entertainment agencies of the actors who attended the event are taking preemptive measures. An official from a management company of the actors who attended the award ceremony explained, "Our actors did not come in contact with Jung Woo Sung, but they have been tested for COVID19 as a preemptive response."
Glad he was wearing a mask the whole time except when presenting, and I feel bad for him. He had no idea he had it when he went, and he was vaccinated, but it’s a lesson. We should still be social distancing, because vaccines don’t stop the spread, or even stop you from getting it, and the pandemic is far from over. With all these new variants, it seems it will be with us for quite some time. Stay healthy everyone!
