tvN is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and to thank the cable broadcasting station for its years of top-notch quality programs, here's a list of ten of the best shows they ever aired! Based on popularity, response, viewer ratings, and more, these ten shows are definitely a must-watch. And even if you already saw them, you can always see them again and again!
Check out the list below (in no particular order)!
'Reply 1997'
The beginning of the immensely popular 'Reply' series, this drama first takes you back to the late 90's when idol groups were first becoming the hottest things in show biz. It centers on young love, feeds off nostalgia, and brings about laughs of youthful energy and friendship back in the good ole days.
'Reply 1994'
The second installment of the trilogy, 'Reply 1994' takes you a few years earlier than its predecessor, focusing on the sweet years of college when youths worry about their futures while enjoying the freedom of their early 20's.
'Reply 1988'
The third and most recent installment of the trilogy, 'Reply 1988' takes you further back and focuses on the troubles and affections of three different households. Although it might be too early for some of you to relate to, everyone can empathize with its timeless messages about family, friendship, love, and more.
'Oh My Ghost'
A heartwarming fantastical drama that combines the genres of comedy, mystery, romance, and thriller, 'Oh My Ghost' will have you on the edge of your seat with both laughter and curiosity. The drama centers on a wild ghost's possession of a timid girl's body so that she can lose her virginity (yup) and pass onto the afterlife.
'Let's Eat'
When 'mukbang' first became all the rage, tvN cleverly whipped up a drama all about eating! Your mouth will water as you watch the protagonists eat yummy food after yummy food. In the meantime, a mystery and romance brew in the background. (I do not recommend the sequel.)
'Misaeng'
This drama hits close to home, particularly with the youths in Korea who suffer at a difficult working environment and try to grow and mature. Full of great meaning and touching moments, this drama has a very real quality to it that is unforgettable.
'Witch's Romance'
A sweet romance and remake of a Taiwanese drama, 'Witch's Romance' captures the romance between an older woman and a mature, younger man who helps her with not only her journalism but also her love life - while they fall in love with each other.
'Queen In Hyun's Man'
A time traveling, historical fantasy piece, 'Queen In Hyun's Man' was immensely popular for capturing a sweet, heart-fluttering romance between a man from the past (like, way, way past) and a woman at the present time who looks just like Queen In Hyun whom he lives to serve.
'Flower Boy Ramen Shop'
This successful drama focuses on the love story between a woman and a much younger man as they take care of a ramen shop left to yet another man. Sweet and humorous, the drama also has a surprising amount of depth that will leave you hooked.
'Nine'
Another time traveling piece, 'Nine' is a serious drama with heartache and gravity that will get you smiling at times and crying at others. It focuses on a man who discovers nine incense sticks, each which lets him go back in time 20 years for as long as the stick lasts (about half an hour).
If you had to pick an absolute favorite, which is it? Which ones are you considering watching (first time or even again)?
