According to Taewan's agency D-Business Entertainment's press release, Taewan had been keeping busy producing his own album, as well as those of Rain and JYJ's Junsu (XIA). He has history with Rain as the producer for Rain's 5th album 'Rainism' as well as MBLAQ's debut album. He also worked with 4minute, Wheesung, Gummy, making a name for himself as a multi-talented artist.
In the press release, it was mentioned that he was producing for Rain's new album, which led to the articles on Taewan's comeback to shoot up to become some of the most popular ones of the day. This fueled the public's interest as many are still looking on Rain unfavorably, feeling that he got off too easy with his discharge coming before the abolishing of the celebrity recruit unit. So to hear that an album was being produced for him already by Taewan, many offered their two cents on the issue.
With this becoming a hot topic, Rain's reps stepped forward to deny all this. "This is different from the truth. We have never entrusted [Taewan] with the producing... [Rain] has absolutely no plans for promotions right now. These rumors of his album production and return stemmed from the process of Taewan's album release being announced.... A specific time period has not been decided on [for Rain]'s return. We will have to take time and think about it thoroughly before we decide."
After Rain's reps denied the news, the public turned their attention towards Taewan, who now seemed as if he had purposely mentioned Rain's name and falsely claimed to be the producer of Rain's new album to spark interest for his own release.
In response, Taewan's reps explained what they meant when they talked about Taewan producing for Rain's new album in their press release. "As Taewan is Rain's friend, he was working on a song that could be included in an album Rain may release later. He never received an official request to do this, and was just doing it on a personal level as a close friend."
As for Taewan's own release, he will pre-release his new track, "Where Do You Want to Go?" on the 23rd ahead of his 2nd album. "Where Do You Want to Go?" features Leessang's Gary and Crush.
