As the family of the late actress Sulli accuses actor Kim Soo Hyun and director Lee Sa Rang (a.k.a. Lee Love) of coercing Sulli into explicit scenes during the filming of the 2017 movie 'Real', attention is now turning to actress Han Ji Eun, who also appeared in the film and previously spoke about her own traumatic experience.
In a 2018 interview that has recently resurfaced online, Han revealed she suffered serious emotional aftereffects following the filming of 'Real'. She had been cast through a highly competitive audition with a 4,300-to-1 ratio, after seeing a casting call posted directly by Kim Soo Hyun on social media. The notice had included a warning that “those unable to perform high-level nudity will not be considered.” Despite her concerns, Han said she chose to audition, trusting in Kim Soo Hyun’s name.
However, the filming process proved overwhelming. The production included intense scenes such as a drug party sequence, sex scenes, and multiple nude shots. Han Ji Eun said she had no one to consult or rely on during the shoot. “I didn’t want to regret it, but I ended up suffering a great deal,” she recalled, admitting she heard people say she was “used and discarded.”
Director Kim Sung Hoon, who later worked with Han on the film 'Rampant', reportedly expressed sympathy for her ordeal, and Han shared that it was through 'Rampant' that she slowly began to heal from the experience.
When asked about her sex scene with Kim Soo Hyun in 'Real', she said, “There was some consideration since it was a first for both of us, but he didn’t provide emotional support.” She contrasted this with her work alongside actor Hyun Bin, whom she described as “quiet, but a steady and supportive presence.”
Shockingly, most of Han Ji Eun’s scenes were cut from the final edit, meaning she endured the discomfort and exposure only for them not to appear on screen.
Meanwhile, Sulli’s older brother has claimed that her sex scene with Kim Soo Hyun was not originally detailed in the script. He alleges Sulli was persuaded on set to proceed with the shoot and that a body double, though available, was not used. He has called on both Kim Soo Hyun and the director to respond to these accusations and urged a full investigation into what happened.
