Sung Yuri, a former member of the iconic girl group Fin.K.L, is poised to return to the public eye via a home shopping broadcast, marking her first major appearance since stepping back from activities due to her husband’s legal troubles.

Recently, GS Shop teased a mysterious promotional video on Instagram with the caption, “A legendary Korean celebrity is here,” and added, “That silhouette looks familiar—could it really be her?” The video featured a woman dancing with her back to the camera, not revealing her identity. Hashtags such as “#OriginalFairy,” “#MillenniumLove,” and “#HealingCamp” strongly hinted that the woman is indeed Sung Yuri.

Adding to the speculation, a space rental company posted on social media on April 24, stating, “Sung Yuri visited today. It was surreal to meet a celebrity at our place, and the filming atmosphere was fantastic. See you soon on GS Home Shopping.”

Comments quickly flooded GS Shop’s post, with fans recognizing the woman in the teaser video as Sung Yuri. The buzz surrounding the video marks what appears to be Sung’s first public activity in recent times.

Her hiatus followed the legal fallout involving her husband, professional golfer Ahn Sung Hyun, who was sentenced to four years and six months in prison in December last year on charges including bribery and violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes. He was also ordered to forfeit two luxury watches received during illicit dealings.

Ahn is accused of colluding with an employee responsible for listings at cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb promising token listings in return for tens of billions of Korean KRW in bribes. He allegedly also diverted 2 billion KRW (approximately $1.45 million) from Kang Jong Hyun, rumored to be the real owner of Bithumb, during the process.

Sung Yuri married Ahn in 2017 and is now a mother to twin daughters. Following the scandal, she took a break from public life, stating, “I sincerely pray that the truth behind the unfair and painful situation our family is going through will be revealed.”

This upcoming GS Shop appearance won’t be her first venture into home shopping. Back in November 2020, Sung successfully sold out products she helped develop during a live broadcast with Hyundai Home Shopping.

With this new move, fans are eagerly anticipating her full return to the spotlight.
