On the morning of July 13th, Hangeul Museum hosted a huge groundbreaking event, and invited a plethora of A-listers and official dignitaries. Attendees included Jeong Byeong Guk (the minister for the Ministry of Culture and Tourism), fashion designer Lee Sang Bong, actor Jang Hyuk, and actress Shin Se Kyung among others. The Hangeul Museum aims to exhibit how Koreans communicated prior to the creation of the Hangeul language in the Joseon Dynasty. It'll also show what principles were applied to King Sejong's 'Hunminjeongeum', a document explaining the new script for the Korean language. Visitors will also be also able to compare Hangeul with other international letters, learn the Korean letters, and search for Hangeul-related data and information. Construction is estimated to be completed by the first half of 2013, and will be situated east of the main gate of the National Museum in Yongsan, Seoul. [gallery] Source: The Korea Herald
