Part of newest episode of KBS's "Boss in the Mirror" reveals how Mamamoo's leader Solar evaluated pre-debut performance of new rookie girl group Purple K!SS.
Solar was the only mentor from panel of judges which decided to give a lot of advices to rookies from RBW Entertainment.
"Honestly based on this performance alone I don't see how you are different. On music shows, I've seen so many performances by other groups. I don't see how Purple K!SS is different from those other groups."
Later on, Solar gave pointers to few members, and to whole group as well:
"Jieun... you need to practice a bit more. You lack of confidence especially when you sing. I think you looked a bit uncomfortable. It's not a debut performance, still a nerve-racking, of course... but try to be more confident.
Goeun you look rather stiff when you dance. If look better when you loosen up.
Back in my day I arrived at 7:30 am. Now it's the time to practice, get all practice that you can."
In addition to that Solar also shared that before Mamamoo's debut she felt nervous, and hopeful but also scared. People from industry were saying that Mamamoo won't make it, and that they will be a failure so everything was tough for Solar, Moonbyul, Wheein and Hwasa.
What solar said was absolutely true tho, you stan a group when something about it stands out and that's my first thought when I see a new group. But yeah I'm sure they'll be great and they have amazing seniors so looking forward to more amazing performances and a great year for them. Fighting and btw they're great singers and dancers.
