MC Mong (real name Shin Dong Hyun) has publicly criticized SM Entertainment on social media.

On March 5th KST, MC Mong posted a lengthy message on his personal social media, along with a screenshot of the Korean dictionary entry for . In K-pop culture, is often used as an abbreviation for SM Entertainment.

In his post, he wrote, “Do you remember when you came to my house to apologize? You’re all stuck on your little island, committing nothing but savage and violent acts. As an adult, this is just shameful. Keep it up with this nonsense. Someone who has never made music is now the head of A&R, and an ignorant manager is running the company like a reckless fool. Your stupidity and greed will eventually leave you all alone. I promise you that.”

MC Mong continued, “Hey, Lee. You told me at the law office that you wanted to protect yourself from your uncle’s actions—the way he blocked broadcasts and did other incomprehensible things. But you’re worse than a snake. Watching you steal everything from your uncle, learning from him, and doing even worse things—it gives me chills. Pretending to be kind and virtuous while bullying the weak. What you’re doing now is worse than school violence. I have proof. Should I release the recordings? I’m still thinking about it.”

He concluded with, “You can spread all the ridiculous rumors you want about me—I don’t care. But this time, you messed with the wrong person. Even in 2025, you can’t even provide a proper financial statement. How pathetic. Just like the name ‘SM’—so beastly and uncivilized.”

Why is MC Mong criticizing SM Entertainment?

MC Mong’s harsh remarks come after INB100, EXO member Xiumin’s agency, released a statement on March 4th KST. The agency claimed that KBS had unofficially informed them that Xiumin could not appear on ‘Music Bank’ or other shows featuring SM Entertainment artists.

INB100 is a sub-label under One Hundred Label, which was co-founded by MC Mong and Chairman Cha Ga Won.

According to INB100, “Xiumin is set to release his solo album ‘Interview X’ on March 10th, marking his first solo comeback in two years and six months. We made multiple efforts to arrange meetings with KBS to secure his appearances on music programs, but our calls were ignored. Eventually, we were told informally that Xiumin could not appear on shows featuring SM artists.”

The agency continued, “This decision is difficult to accept. KBS, as a public broadcaster, should not be preventing artists from meeting their fans simply due to conflicts with a specific company. If this unfair situation continues, our artists will essentially be barred from promoting during the same period as SM artists. It is deeply troubling that KBS is making decisions based solely on the interests of one company. We have done everything we could to resolve this matter, and it is extremely unfortunate to have to share this news with fans.”
