On February 16, 2025, actress Kim Sae Ron was found dead in her home.
According to the police, Kim Sae Ron was discovered dead in her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul. The police report was received around 5 PM on the same day, and the person who first discovered her is said to be a friend.
It is reported that the police have not found any signs of criminal activity, such as signs of an external intrusion into the house. The police have launched an investigation to clarify the circumstances and cause of her death.
Kim Sae Ron previously halted her activities to reflect, following a car accident. In May 2022, the actress was fined 20 million won for causing an accident while driving under the influence, in which she fled the scene after she crashed her car into an electric transformer and caused a power outage that affected nearby street lights and businesses.
Kim Sae Ron’s most recent work was the 2023 Netflix original series ‘Bloodhounds’, which was filmed before her DUI. She was planning to return to the acting scene with the theatrical play 'Dongchimi' in May 2024, but she eventually dropped out, citing health concerns.
In addition, a source close to the actress mentioned that Kim Sae Ron had concluded the filming for a music film 'Guitar Man' in November 2024, and was in talks about furthering her career.
Born in 2000, Kim Sae Ron debuted through the film ‘A Brand New Life’ in 2009, and is most well known for the films ‘The Man from Nowhere’ and ‘The Neighbor’. She passed away at the age of 24.
