Girls’ Generation’s Yuri lights up the 29th Busan International Film Festival.
Actress and Girls’ Generation member Yuri made a radiant appearance at the 29th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) with the film ‘The Intruder,’ which was officially invited to the festival’s Korean Cinema Today - Panorama section. Yuri attended the opening ceremony on October 2nd KST, along with participating in an outdoor stage greeting, making a strong impression throughout the event.
At the opening ceremony, Yuri walked the red carpet in a black dress, accompanied by the director and cast of ‘The Intruder.’ She captivated the crowd with her elegant yet charismatic presence, earning enthusiastic cheers from the audience.
With the tickets for the BIFF screening of ‘The Intruder’ completely sold out, Yuri participated in the GV(Guest Visit) session, where she watched the film with the audience and shared insights about her role, the film’s message, and more. She also engaged with the crowd during the outdoor stage greeting at BIFF Square, impressing everyone with her bright energy and genuine charm.
Speaking about the film, Yuri expressed her deep affection for the project, saying, “After reading the script, I really wanted to be part of ‘The Intruder’ in any capacity. I’m grateful to the director for considering me for the role of Min, as it was a character and atmosphere I had never experienced before.” She added, “I watched the film completely immersed, and I hope the audience enjoys it as well. Please show a lot of support and love when it’s released.” Her remarks were met with applause.
Having successfully completed her schedule at the 29th Busan International Film Festival, Yuri is set to return to the small screen in the upcoming tvN drama ‘Parole Examiner Lee Han Shin,’ which will air on November 18th. Her role as Ahn Seo Yoon in the drama is already drawing attention, signaling more active acting projects in her future.
Meanwhile, Yuri’s new film ‘The Intruder’ is a mystery thriller that follows the story of Yeong Eun, whose life is turned upside down by her daughter So Hyun’s strange behavior. Twenty years later, Min and Hae Young, who handle lonely deaths, encounter cracks and terror in their lives. The film is slated for release in 2025.
