A teaser video revealing the participant numbers for Season 2 of Netflix's original series Squid Game has been released.
Netflix's official channel dropped a teaser video with the message: "The real game begins."
The video showcases various participant numbers individually, including 124, 380, 390, 388, 7, 44, 120, 124, 125, 149, 222, 246, 380, 388, and 390. It ends with the character Seong Gi Hun, played by Lee Jung Jae, staring at the camera while wearing the number 456.
Director Hwang Dong Hyuk commented, "Seong Gi Hun, who hinted at revenge at the end of Season 1, returns to participate in the game. Will he succeed in his quest for revenge as he promised?"
The Season 2 teaser shows Seong Gi Hun returning with his hair now styled neatly in black, reverting to his original participant number 456. This starkly contrasts the red-dyed hair he sported when he left for America at the end of Season 1. The upcoming season also features notable actors such as Im Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Wi Ha Joon, Park Gyu Young, and Yang Dong Geun. Fans eagerly anticipate how these new cast members will fit into the storyline, especially their revealed participant numbers.
Audiences reacted to the video with comments like: "Why isn't Lee Jung Jae shown?" "Why reveal this now? Shouldn't it be saved for November?" "I'm excited to see the numbers finally," and "I'm relieved he doesn't have red hair."
Season 2 of the Netflix series Squid Game will premiere on December 26 this year, marking about three years and three months since Season 1 was released in 2021.
