QWER's agency, 3YCORPORATION, has issued an update regarding the ongoing legal actions against malicious commenters.
On August 12th, the agency released a statement on the official QWER fan website, addressing the legal proceedings related to defamatory and abusive online comments targeting the band members.
The agency stated, "Since our announcement in June to take legal action against defamatory and abusive content aimed at QWER members, we have received over 250 reports. After review by our legal team, we filed the first round of criminal complaints on June 20th, under charges of insult and defamation."
The agency further emphasized their commitment to continue monitoring and taking legal action against excessive defamation, insults, and the spread of false information. They also encouraged fans to assist by reporting any instances of illegal content or rights violations involving the artists, particularly in closed or private online communities, where evidence gathering can be challenging. The agency noted that fan reports are invaluable for securing the necessary evidence.
QWER, a four-member girl band consisting of Chodan, Magenta, Hina, and Siyeon, debuted in October last year. They have since gained popularity with releases such as "Discord" and "T.B.H"
Below is the full statement from 3YCORPORATION:
Hello, this is 3YCORPORATION.
We would like to provide an update on the legal actions we are taking against rights-infringing posts and recent malicious comments circulating online.
Since our announcement in June to pursue legal measures against defamation and insult crimes targeting QWER members, we have received over 250 reports. After careful review by our legal team, we filed the first criminal complaint on June 20th, under charges including insult.
We will continue to take legal actions regularly and continuously against excessive defamation, insults, and the spread of false information, based on our own monitoring and the reports submitted by fans.
For malicious posts in private, members-only communities, fan reports are particularly helpful in securing evidence. We encourage you to report any cases of rights violations or illegal activities involving our artists to the dedicated email address below.
Thank you for your continued support.
