Park Joon Hyung shares experience of racial discrimination.

On August 29, the YouTube channel ‘Gongbuwang Jjincheonjae Hong Jin Kyung’ uploaded a video titled “Hong Jin Kyung Shares English Expressions Learned After Experiencing Racism (+Park Joon Hyung)”.

In the video, Hong Jin Kyung urgently called on Park Joon Hyung, saying, “I’m sorry for contacting you suddenly, but thank you for coming. Something outrageous happened on the plane.” She then shared her experience of racial discrimination.

Hong Jin Kyung previously revealed that she was discriminated against during an in-flight meal on her way to Europe. She said, “I asked for steak, but they said they didn’t have any and only brought salmon. When I asked why they were serving the main course without an appetizer, they just scoffed.”

She continued, “This was the first time something like this happened to me. I initially thought it was fine since I had already received an apology, but later, I regretted not sending a complaint letter for the sake of others who might face the same situation.” To learn how to write a complaint in English, she invited Park Joon Hyung.

In response, Park Joon Hyung emphasized, “You must send a complaint letter. From the early ’70s to the ‘80s, racial discrimination was just a given. I’ve experienced it all, so nothing surprises me anymore.”

He added, “I’ve been physically attacked, spat on, had excrement thrown at me, and once, someone came to our house, turned on the garden hose full blast, and rang our doorbell, soaking my mother.” He openly shared his own experiences with racial discrimination.
