EPEX to hold first solo concert in China, leading new wave of K-pop expansion
EPEX will hold their first solo concert in China on May 31st at MAAQUU X CH8 livehouse in Fuzhou. The concert is titled ‘青春缺乏 in 福州’ (Youth Shortage in Fuzhou).
This marks EPEX’s first-ever local concert in China and holds special significance. They are the first all-Korean-member K-pop idol group to confirm a solo concert in China since the cultural restriction order was implemented in 2016, nearly nine years ago. Although other non-Korean nationality idols and hip-hop groups such as Homies have performed in China, EPEX is the first fully Korean idol group to officially break through, emerging as a new leader in the K-pop wave across China.
Since their debut, EPEX has consistently made efforts to connect with Chinese fans. They have collaborated with Chinese magazines for photoshoots and interviews, and earlier this year in January, they held fan signing events in Shanghai and Qingdao, receiving considerable attention. Now, they are set to achieve another milestone with their solo concert in China.
EPEX has been demonstrating their global influence through their ‘Youth Shortage’ concert tour, which began in Seoul in December last year and has spanned across Asia. In May, they are scheduled to perform in Macau on May 3rd, Taipei on May 24th, and Fuzhou on May 31st, showcasing new repertoires from ‘Youth Shortage’.
Last year, EPEX successfully launched their three-part full-length album series centered on youth, releasing their first full album ‘Prelude of Youth: Chapter 1’ and second full album ‘Prelude of Youth: Chapter 2 - Youth Shortage’. Through the ‘Youth Shortage’ tour, they are presenting well-made stages featuring new songs like ‘To Youth’ and ‘UNIVERSE’, enhanced with vibrant rearrangements and performances, garnering praise from fans around the world.

‘青春缺乏 in 福州’ (Youth Shortage in Fuzhou) will be held on May 31st at 7:30 PM (CST), expanding EPEX’s unique emotional portrayal of youth.
Currently, EPEX is also in discussions to hold additional solo concerts in other regions of China. Moreover, they are set to release a new collaboration single ‘so nice’ with American retro synth-pop act joan on May 6th at 6 PM, drawing attention to their limitless global expansion.
