It was previously reported that 'SBS Gayo Daejeon' will be hosting the event twice in 2024, once in first half of the year, and again in the latter half. 

The 'SBS Gayo Daejeon' in 2023 had been marred in controversy because of various issues, including ticket fraud controversies, audience disturbances during the red carpet event, artist stage mishaps, and technical difficulties. 

When the news dropped about a double show, Korean netizens shared their thoughts on the matter on a Korean online community.

"Why don't they just do one the right way hahaha."

"They can't even do one properly, but two? hahaha."

"They really have no shame after ruining last year's broadcast like that."

"Whatever they do, the artists will still attend, and the fans will have to tune in regardless, so they're being shameless outright. Really just grifting for money."
