On January 9, Park Hyungsik sat down with select members of the press over Zoom for an online media conference ahead of his solo fan meeting in Manila, Philippines next month.
The actor recalled the Philippines as having "very passionate fans." He added, "And I'm very happy every time I get to see and interact with them." However, because it had been a while since he visited the country, he admitted to being a little nervous.
Hyungsik also revealed that he had "a feeling of not wanting to go back to Korea" after he visited Manila due to how much he enjoyed the food and weather.
"There are a lot of beautiful islands in the Philippines," Hyungsik remarked. He then expressed his love for scuba diving by saying that if given the chance, he would like to take a lengthy vacation in the country and try activities like fishing and scuba diving. Speaking of vacations, the actor mentioned that he enjoys listening to the music of Bruno Mars while driving.
On his acting career, Hyungsik stated that he feels, based on the projects he has been working on, that the decisions he has made in the past have shaped who he is today, and that his parents' lessons have had a huge influence on who he is as a person.
One of the projects he is most related to is the upcoming JTBC drama 'Doctor Slump,' in which he plays the role of Yeo Jeong Woo. "First of all, 'Doctor Slump' carries a message of people in a slump in this society right now. There are points where the viewers can be comforted," he said. "The role I played in this project has a very positive personality, and it handles and conquers the hardships he faces." He shared that everyone can anticipate a lot from this project, including the relationship between him and Park Shin Hye, where their friendship blossomed into love.
"Every character I acted during my past projects somehow portrayed myself in parts," Hyungsik remarked. But he feels that the character he most closely resembles is Ahn Min Hyuk, the character he plays in 'Strong Girl Bong Soon.' "The way he jokes around... It's the way I am with my friends."
When asked about roles he'd like to experiment with in the future, Hyungsik said he recently watched the supernatural drama 'Moving' and he'd like to try a role that has superpowers.
Meanwhile, Hyungsik's fan meeting is scheduled for February 17, 2024 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Ticket prices are as follows: Diamond (PhP 15,000), Platinum (PhP 12,500), Gold (PhP 10,500), and Silver (PhP 8,500).
