Spire Entertainment, the former agency of the group OMEGA X, has taken a significant step by reporting IPQ and DANAL Entertainment to the Fair Trade Commission. This move is aimed at shedding light on suspicions of tampering and alleged unfair practices related to OMEGA X.
On January 30 KST, Spire Entertainment confirmed that they had initiated this action, emphasizing their commitment to "uncovering the genuine truth" behind the incident. They described the process as challenging but necessary to ensure transparency and justice.
Spire Entertainment stated, "We anticipate that this report to the Fair Trade Commission will lead to a comprehensive revelation of the facts. Our hope is that the truth will emerge through the impartial judgment of the Fair Trade Commission, rather than being obscured by mutual accusations and unfounded speculations."
Furthermore, Spire Entertainment affirmed their intention to pursue legal actions, including civil and criminal measures for damages, rectifying any inaccuracies in previous media reports by filing a complaint with the Press Arbitration Commission, and seeking compensation for damages once the Fair Trade Commission makes its decision. They also expressed their desire to use this opportunity to strengthen the K-Pop market and eradicate any tampering practices.
In November 2022, OMEGA X initiated legal proceedings against Spire Entertainment to regain the intellectual property rights (IP) transferred to IPQ. Spire Entertainment also took legal action against lawyers A and B, who were present at the OMEGA X press conference. In response, IPQ denied any illegal activities or tampering attempts in the process of terminating Omega X's exclusive contract with Spire Entertainment and recruiting them to IPQ.
I guess Spire is going to keep suing people and/or companies until they've bankrupted their company.
