BLACKPINK has etched their name in the annals of K-pop history by becoming the first girl group ever to hold their concert at Seoul's iconic Gocheok Sky Dome.
Earlier this month, the globally renowned girl group revealed the final concert dates in Seoul for their 'Born Pink' world tour. The dates for the thrilling performances were disclosed for September 16 and 17. However, the venue remained undisclosed.
It was not until August 24 that the suspense was finally lifted when YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK's agency, announced that the grand finale would indeed take place at the iconic Gocheok Sky Dome.
Situated in Gocheok-dong, Seoul, the Gocheok Sky Dome is a vast, high-profile stadium. With its significant scale and reputation, the dome has the capacity to accommodate approximately 25,000 spectators for concerts. It has also been announced that the venue will host the final of the 2023 League of Legends World Championship, taking place on November 19 this year.
Korean netizens were impressed with BLACKPINK's latest feat and commented, "Daebak," "I wonder if they will be able to fill all the seats up to the third floor," "They're the first girl group?" "I really really really want to go," "Nothing less expected of BLACKPINK," "This is so crazy, I'm definitely going," "Wow, this is so impressive for a girl group," "Congrats to BLACKPINK. I just hope I get to reserve a seat," "BLACKPINK is the best," "BLACKPINK is definitely on another level," "They're the queens," and "I can't belive a girl group gets to perform at Gocheok."
