HYBE CEO Lee Jae Sang stated that BTS will need "time" before making a full-group comeback.
At HYBE's annual general shareholders' meeting held in Mapo-gu, Seoul, on the morning of March 31, CEO Lee said, "The BTS members are set to complete their military service by the end of the first half of this year, and they will need time for preparation and production before resuming activities."
He added, "The company is also preparing by discussing with top-tier composers, but the artists (BTS members) themselves need time for deliberation and preparation."
Lee Jae Sang explained, "Typically, the process involves working on songs, releasing an album, and then going on tour. However, since BTS has already risen to the level of global top artists, they are continuously discussing their vision and their 'next' phase. It is necessary to consider and align with this direction carefully."
All BTS members are set to complete their military service by June. RM and V, who enlisted as active-duty soldiers in the Army, will be discharged together on June 10, followed by Jimin and Jungkook on June 11. SUGA, who has been serving as a social service worker, will complete his service on June 22.
Jin and J-Hope, who were discharged last year, have been pursuing solo activities. Jin will appear in the Netflix variety show 'Kian’s Bizarre B&B,' set to be released on April 8. J-Hope has been actively promoting, having released his new digital single 'Sweet Dreams' on March 7.
